Results of the Kitchen Scrap Garden Activity

Which parts of the plant should grow?

1. 1.Carrot, beet and radish tops will grow (because they have stem tissues).
   

2. 2.Onion nibs and sprouted onions and garlic will grow.
   

3. 3.Sweet potatoes and potato peels with an “eye” will grow new plants. Technically potatoes are underground stems rather than roots.
   

6.  Sorry, leaf vegetables won’t grow unless you have some stem tissues attached.
